What is the way to Carnegie Hall? (most famous concert venue in the USA)

Practice, practice & more Practise!

Let us have Ng Wei Ai (winner of high scorer’s Award in 2004) and Anne Devan (Hedy King Robinson Winner) Gr. 6-8 Theory Distinction. Share their stories with us. Hope it will inspire more young talents to follow their footsteps.

What is the Success Story?

1) How old are you?

8 years old

2) Why did you get started?

My mother thought it would be a nice change for me to learn how to play the violin as my two older brothers learnt to play piano.

3) Give 3 success tips for your success. (Is it because gifted/talented?)

  • I think I have a God-given talent, I must remember to practice very hard.
  • I started early (when I was three), so my fingers are more flexible.
  • I like listening to classical music.

4)Any words of encouragement for students at Klassique Musik?

Have confidence in yourself. Enjoy your music lessons, and most importantly, enjoy music.

5) Any words of advice from the parents to share?

Be very involved in your child’s music development. Be his/her most ardent fan, cheerleader, be an objective critic too. As well as an “assistant” teacher, a discipline master, a concert date, a note taker, a chauffeur. But most importantly, enjoy the music journey together - it’s a great opportunity for parent-child bonding.
